Bill Mahoney hails from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was a high school dropout who at thirteen began hitchhiking across the country working odd jobs. He sailed the Atlantic as a merchant marine and the Pacific in the navy. He also fought a professional fight.

He hopped trolleys, trucks, and trains. He graduated from an adult high school then earned a BA at UCLA and an MA at Boston University. He taught world history in Paris for ten years. His previous book, Vagabonding Through Retirement, recounts his and his wife’s wild adventures across five continents. A third book, Mission Paris, will appear soon. Bill speaks five languages and can tell a story in a dozen others.

He currently resides in Florida where he’s promised to stay put. But…this summer he is going to an isolated cabin in Alaska. He remains the eternal wanderer driven to experience whatever is around every corner.
